"The Family Plan" is the latest venture that's part of a partnership between Apple Original Studios and Skydance Media, Deadline has reported. It will be directed by Simon Cellan Jones, who has collaborated with Wahlberg in the past.

According to Deadline, the film will tell the story of a "suburban dad who must take his family on the run when his past catches up to him." It is written by David Coggeshall, known for "Lore," "Orphan: First Kill," and "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia."

Wahlberg is set to produce the film alongside Stephen Levinson. Other producers will include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger.

Apple's partnership with Skydance marked one of the company's best, with many industry watchers calling it one of the "richest." The deal has already resulted in other high-profile releases, like the animated film "Luck."

A dad who takes his family on the run due to issues from his past.

Where have I seen this plotline before? Wait, it's coming to me, it was on Apple TV+, got it! "Mosquito Coast!" And it's a real turkey! And every episode was worse than the last! No wonder Theroux decided to go with another recycled dystopian turkey aptly named "The Leftovers."

When they're good, they're very very good. But when they're bad, they're almost as bad as Netflix! More Ted Lasso, more Severance, Black Bird, The Morning Show, For All Mankind, Five Days at Memorial, Pachinko and Schmigadoon. Less Surface, Loot, Slow Horses and Physical. And how about more clever dialog and way, way, way less reliance on "F&*%" every other word.
