I can't point to much of what Microsoft is doing that another company isn't doing as well.

    Azure hasn't killed AWS.

Out of around 10 big cloud providers, Azure is the second biggest, and it's not even close. The market for cloud services isn't like the market for mobile operating systems -- there are going to be lots of winners. And so far, Azure is definitely one of them.

Generally, the largest company by market capitalization does not stay the largest for very long.
In the last 25 years or so, we've had six firms swap in and out of highest market capitalization: Apple, Aramco, ExxonMobil, GE, Microsoft and PetroChina.
Decades before that, US Steel, IBM, GM and (long ago) a coal company were the largest at times.

The largest company is not necessarily the most profitable, most innovative, fastest growing or the most influential.
Private companies are not usually included in such lists, and some sovereign wealth fund holdings are also not included.

Will be interesting to see lawsuits that result from incorrect output of AI due to hallucinations.  Some of the answers can be funny, if not dangerous.
As more layers and complexity of patterns have been added, some responses to test questions that were formerly mostly correct are now less so.
Have heard there are issues when asking if a given number is a prime number, for example.

May be some future litigation on how OpenAI was pitched to initial private equity and wealthy investors.
Elon Musk of Tesla fame believes he was mislead that OpenAI would be an open architecture, not a closed one.

I'm more concerned that OpenAI probably needs guardrails or other restrictions to prevent damage.
Some fears and reports of OpenAi being used for fraud or deception.
A bad outcome would resemble HAL9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Apple should report earnings on 31.Jan.2024.
Some folks may be trading around a core position in AAPL.
They will attempt to sell relatively high, and buy back lower later.
This is also the time of year people will cash-out winnings (you don't have a profit until you sell something).
The last time MSFT had a larger market capitalization than AAPL, the situation reversed relatively quickly (1-2 weeks, as I recall).
Would be interesting to see something other than a technology or oil company as stock with highest market capitalization.
