I’d be interested in this if it contains all of the sensors needed for sleep tracking. I currently use AutoSleep for sleep tracking. It’s an amazing app.
The only issue is wearing my Apple Watch to bed is and danger to my bedmate it’s cumbersome. In addition to the physical clumsiness the damn screen springs to life every time I move. Even the always-on screen is annoying when it’s dimmed in a dark space. I use the dimmest watch face I could find but it’s still too bright.
Actually, I’d be quite happy with an Apple sleep tracker band (Apple Sleep Band )that simply contains all of the data acquisition sensors needed to support sleep tracking. It could be significantly thinner and lighter than any Apple Watch and I wouldn’t care if it was mostly plastic.
The only must-have feature beyond the aforementioned sensors would be for it to support the same exact charging mechanism as the Apple Watch. When I go to bed I’d take the sleep band off the charger and put my Apple Watch on the same charger. In the morning, do the inverse, put the sleep band on the charger and put the watch on my wrist.
If what I’m calling the Apple Sleep Band takes the form factor of a ring, that would be even better.
At 7:45 the person plays a violin with the hand movements. This is similar to the hand tracking on the Vision Pro, which will be able to do the same. Maybe there would be too much occlusion on the wrist to track the hand.
Being able to get hand rotation and some kind of selector would offer quite a lot of input options, a ring might be able to offer enough but full hand tracking would be more useful. Smart rings from other companies are being used for health tracking rather than input control.
There are many reasons why Leap motion failed and this was one of them. Controlling stuff with your hands/arms for longer than a few seconds gets tiring very quickly, and the precision was very coarse. This is still very apparent in the Quest.
I recently purchased the RingConn to better track my sleep. While I use a Series 6 Apple Watch to measure my exercises, I turn it off between sessions so I don’t have to charge it daily. I like the RingConn because i can leave it in Airplane Mode all the time to avoid Bluetooth Pollution to my body. Then each morning I place it in the recharge case, turn on Bluetooth just long enough to synchronize the new sleep data then turn the Airplane Mode back on and put the ring back on my finger. Hope if Apple does come out with a ring they implement this sort of non Bluetooth Mode for our bodies to stay Bluetooth free as much as possible. Bad enough needing Bluetooth from the watch when it’s on. Also, unlike Oura, RingConn is a subscription free ring.
Watch…. There will be wedding ring versions with diamonds on them. It will remind them of their anniversary.
Women reminisce. Men are reminded. Ask 100 men on the street and see how many can give the dated without some brain cells hemorrhaging. Or birthdays. Yeah a feature like that could be a relationshipsaver.

Huh? You don't remember dates and think this is an issue between men and women?
I'm not a fan of rings. I don't wear them and sure wouldn't wear a smart ring from anyone. As for sleep monitoring, I use a Sleep tracking Pad. I've been using it since 2019. The Data goes right into Apple's Health App. It works well. You stick the thing under your mattress. You don't even have to think about it. It's all automatic. I don't see the point of a Smart Ring.
