Convicted of a bullshit, made up paperwork violation, due to twisting all sorts of statues into pretzels and  charging after the statute of limitations ran out. And a 30 year old he said/she said case., also well beyond the statue of limitation. But hey, the Bidens get to keep all their money so there’s good news I guess.

Ignoring the actual convictions he's personally had, you look at all the scams and grifts he's been doing under the guise of a legitimate company long before he was a political figure you chalk that up to everyone being out to get him because he's such a wonderful and successful human being? How about the insurrection where people tried to over through a free and fair election? Where he tried to get his own VP murdered if he didn't make unlawful claims? When you hear Trump asking the governor to magically "find" votes in GA so that he can win the state do you think that's above board? When you hear that he paid off a porn star you think he's a Christian who cares about the sanctity of marriage?

If mental gymnastics were an olympic event Simone Biles couldn't complete with you MAGA cultists. It's really unfortunate that people didn't listen to Washington's farewell address when he talked about the problems with political parties. Some people will just fall in line with a party regardless of what they do because it's easier than using any critical thinking skills. Sad.

In all fairness to Wesley though, he did better than other media outlets on this story...

This story plugs the "sexual orientation" agenda (which has nothing to do with the story):
    https://www.advocate.com/business/tim-cook-donates-trump-inauguration

And AppleInsider rival MacRumors seems to take a pot shot at Apple with the mention of Anti-Trust:
    https://www.macrumors.com/2025/01/03/tim-cook-trump-inauguration-donation/
(Perhaps they were trying to to suggest Tim's PERSONAL donation to Trump would or should influence Trump on the anti-trust suit against Apple?)

People as dumb as you shouldn’t be allowed to breed.
I found it rather intriguing that your post tally for that particular post numbers "666".

But I must admit I've been seeing that number a lot lately, on everything from license plates to forum posts like yours.  Regardless of what you believe about the number, it is a bit ominous.

Crazy how the dislike button just came back like that. Some posts were reported and removed. Reminder that this is NOT a political forum. Try and stay somewhat on topic and refrain from direct attakcs on each other.

YouTube removed its Dislike button quite some time ago.  Some contend it was to create a more positive environment.  Others say it was to combat targeted Dislike (retribution) campaigns.

Human beings unfortunately have the tendency toward being negative, vindictive and complainers, so it will be interesting to see how this change pans out.  Most likely, it will be "majority rule" where the majority will seek out those they dislike and disagree with, smashing Dislike rather than engage in meaningful debate or discussion.  Some may debate and smash Dislike as a sanctioned form of "direct attacks on each other."

I just love coming here, seeing to all the people who are convinced they know about President Trump than Tim Cook, who has worked with him for years. That their — shaped entirely by biased corporate media -– is still an authentic one.  Never change, guys!

It never ceases to amaze me that the people claiming that they are tired of bias are the same ones that get their news from the most partisan outlets on the planet. But maybe that's just a coincidence.

It's even more hilarious when words like "controversial" aren't allowed because it suggests the president might be bad, even though controversy isn't inherently bad. Steve Jobs was a controversial figure. Even Joe Biden was a controversial president. If you are threatened by everything you read because of some perceived slight due to a misunderstanding of the English language, then that's on you, dear reader.

I make my opinions known on the internet and in forums because I'm not afraid of them or embarrassed by them. But I can tell you that what I wrote was fair and balanced. If you're offended by facts, then stop going to websites that present facts.

Biden isn’t a controversial president. His Presidency is unique in that his predecessor didn’t respectfully stand aside and allow him his term in peace like every other modern former POTUS has done.

The key word is “invests.” Sad, but that’s the way this works.
Corruption is the word you’re looking for.

If I were still at Apple, I’d be looking for a different job.  No way I’d feel comfortable or even safe (depending on who my bosses were) at Apple as LGBTQ employee now.

Tim Cook did the same thing with Biden. Also, why did Wesley coin the President-Elect as controversial? He won in an electoral college landslide and also won the popular vote by over 4 million votes. I’d say the country clearly stated who they wanted. No controversy here folks. Maybe let’s just stick with tech news and not show our biased political views in a tech article.
He's controversial not because he won, but because of who he is and what he believes. There's nothing biased or even political about that. The mountain of lawsuits, assault claims, overt racism, sexism, and indignation for any country that isn't the United States makes him a controversial president.

Saying someone is controversial isn't an insult or attack. It's a simple fact.

Well, the lawfare against him has certainly been controversial.  Which is why it’s all falling apart now.
    Truth.

TRUMP - 77,303,573 votes (49.9%) HARRIS - 75,019,257 votes (48.4%) A 1.5% difference. Slightly more than half the country voted against him, while nearly half voted for him. Ignoring half the country by erroneously claiming a mandate would be a mistake.

From someone outside the U.S. (I am from England), I find it baffling that Trump 1) would even stand as a candidate to be president and 2) would actually be elected! Why is American politics all about money? It appears the mega-rich pay in and get what they want. Ask Trump on his views on homosexuality (Tim Cook is gay), or misogyny (Trump has previous here). Truly, in a country that size, you would think there were far better candidates. It appears to be all about money. Democracy does not exist in the USA.
There's a long history of events that have lead to this. From Reagan's horrible policies to Citizens United removing campaign contribution limitations, to the creation of legalized money laundering with SuperPACs, and countless other things. I won't even get into the lack of integrity of so-called news outlets pushing a narrative of fear by spreading lies. Trump only was possible because of all these failures that led to lifelong grifter, liar, and sexual predator as POTUS.

It's said that he US can survive 4 years of a bad president. Typically I'd agree, except we're not dealing with someone that loves the US who is moving things in a direction that's not sustainable. We're dealing with a traitor who owes Putin and who won't hesitate to destroy every aspect of this country to protect himself. There is no honorable person who will be in charge in a couple weeks.

What's sad is that I know  some Trump supporters. The ones I know personally are just politically ignorant. They literally have the Fox News logo burned into their TV and think Tucker Carlson was news (when he was on). They're old, early duped, and easily scared by a changing world. They are simply easy marks for being scammed. Then there are others who simply want to see everything burn — and I see several on this website. They don't think Trump will actually help them, but love the idea that someone else like them, with no moral fiber, who hates woman, who hates foreigners, and for some reason are fine with a pedophile as POTUS. This group isn't being duped by Trump's grift, they simply want to see it destroyed because they are too insecure to admit that they're failures because of their own life choices and inadequacies.
Another election looser that can’t over it….he hates foreigners you said? He loved them, hint (Malania)

Of the two of us, I'm the only one who actually accepts the results of free and fair elections no matter the outcome. You're the one still claiming Trump won in 2020, while even in this thread I've noted that Trump won in 2024.

    PS: Happy Anniversary. LOL

    Total votes 152,319,830
    population  346,388,480 people

So more than half didn’t vote for anyone.
they each got more than a 1/5 but less than a 1/4.

Sure a 1/3 are generally underage or otherwise in capable.
still at 80mill non voters are still the next biggest group after the young.

No democracy stands up well to math but USA is particularly bad which is part of the reason you aren’t even top 50 on the demographic index.

That Trump is controversial is indisputable as he meets the very definition of controversy.

What Tim Cook does with his money is up to him so for as much as I would never make this kind of contribution it's his call and that's fine.

I think it's best to flesh out the numbers a bit more when engaging in these numerical discussions..

As of January 1, 2025, the population of the United States was 341,145,670, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. So it's clear the number depends on your source.  But both your number and mine aren't too terrible different.

Total number of votes cast as of today seems to be 155,211,283 as per this source. But counting is still ongoing.

Voting Age population has been estimated by one source to be 78%, which is roughly: 266,092,623 people.
So based on that number, if accurate, the turnout rate for the Nov. '24 election would be
    58.3%.

Other estimates of the number of 18 and older people in the US peg it at
    260,046,087 people.
If that number is accurate, then the turnout rate for the Presidential election would be 59.7%.

The turnout rate among eligible voters according to BallotPedia was 63.7%.

To dive deeper into the numbers, you'd need to consider the mentally ill, physically ill and those otherwise incapable of voting, subtracting them from the 18 and older group, then recalculate the figures.  For example, ChatGPT estimates 5 to 7% of the 18-and-older population may be incapable of voting at all, which if true would be
15,602,765 people. Recalculating the Turnout Rate among the general population shows the number in that case to be 63.5%.

What that tells me is that a very significant and sizable percentage of the US population able to vote did in fact vote.

Not that any of that really matters too much in terms of what Tim Cook PERSONALLY did in terms of making a monetary contribution to President-elect Trump.
