Is it just me or does the new iPod make the old iPod look like it came from the 1980's?

Just looks so fat next to the new iPod..... 8)

Is the backlight on the new iPod blue? From the pics on the internet it looks like it. I liked the white backlighting.

Wow, frank_t those pictures are just what I was looking for! The size difference really is quite dramatic and my desire to get an iPod is now reaching fever pitch... My father has an older 10GB iPod which is lustworthy in its own right but it really does look "fat" next to the new ones

Oh, and I meant to say, I think the rounded corners on the new iPod look much better than the sharp face of the original iPod. Not only does it look better but it should also feel more comfortable in the pocket

These pictures are great! Keep 'em coming! 8)

Atrox I particularly like the comparison with the cassette tape: that gives me a good idea here at home (where I do not have an original iPod to compare) of the relative size of the new 'Pod.

they are both good but i dont think u can praise the new iPods for being so great that they are thing, i mean yeah is alot awesomer that its THAT much thinner, but if they were slightly...and i mean slightly thicker u could have had those 2 hours and maybe even more back that u lost when they went to a thinner design

plus the 15gb copmared to the old 20gb is going to look horribly fatter

although i am standing up for the old ones i like the new ones (have to check one out soon cuz i dont know about the button placement)

I think the thinner design was what actually sold me on getting it. Its light and thin. My old one felt like i was lugging around a shoebox

I wasnt too happy with the button placement either before I got it. I mean, I had the old placement down to a science. When I actually got it, i realized that it was really no different. I've had no issue figuring it out. Came naturally. And the Solid state buttons all around have a really nice feel to them.

Screen is the same, gray and white. Monochrome screens generally look blue in photographs.

Oh that's great cos I love the white backlight. When I had one of the old iPods, I noticed people who hadn't used it before had a hard time figuring out how it worked. I think the current button layout may not be as creative but it is clearer, just by placing the buttons on a straight line.

Says a member without an (any) iPod.

Have you seen what the computers looked like in the 1980s? Maybe a trip to Apple History might refresh your mind.

Wait .. so you are not convinced yet that the older iPod is authentically 1980's style? 1980's mp3 player? \
