This is the largest creative writing award in the country. She was interviewed by four different reporters after graduation. Past recipients have gone on to major book deals and TV appearances.

    Congrats to your sister. I just got back from my five-year reunion at Washington College. I couldn't get in to see the graduation this time because the weather moved it indoors and I didn't have a ticket.



    I hope Laura won't be affected by the Sophie Kerr curse!

    Also, I bet she'll either head to NYC or to my alma mater in Iowa . . . .

    the writers workshop at the University of Iowa . . .



    unless, of course she goes to a truly good school like Harvard or Yale or Brown . . .hm . . .
