Will 970 based machines running Jag support Classic

I am wondering wether the time has come for new hardware to not support classic at all. There are several things coming together this summer:-

1. 970 Based machines.

2. Quark Express 6

3. Jaguar

It seems to me that Apple has to drop OS9 support at some point and supporting it must compromise the performance of the rest of the system. The introduction of the 970 would be a good time to make the decision. If someone is going to spend a couple of thousand dollars or more on a new PowerMac I can't see the $500 upgrade from QE to be an obstacle.

Getting rid of legacy code, will ensure that the new machines are fully optimized and provide all the benefits of the best operating system in the world.

Ok, if not soon, when? It's going to happen one day and some/many people will be annoyed but I'm all for it, as soon as Universal Audio get their audio units stuff together that is.
