so whats EV:nova? never heard of that (despite having looked around at the games for macs i could find online)
and what does the EV stand for, because if i knew then i could find it better by full title.
fallout 1 and 2 i've heard of, but is it necessary to play them in order? just wondering since its hard to get fallout 1 in the uk as far as i have seen

EV: Nova = Escape Velocity Nova. It's the latest in a legendary series of games dating back 7 years. (Ouch, it's been that long already?)
You really should play Fallout 1 before Fallout 2, but if you can't you won't be too lost. Just read a synopsis of F1 and watch the entire opening movie in Fallout 2 and you should be fine.
Fallout 2 is hideously addictive, just so you know.

Of course, whether Marathon runs in Classic is irrelevant, as we have Aleph One :-) Just drop the Aleph One application into your Marathon 2 or Infinity folder, and there you are, shooting Pfhor in 1024 x 768 OpenGL goodness.
If you miss the original Marathon, just download M1A1, the Marathon 1 remake for Aleph One. Again, just drop the Aleph One application into your M1A1 folder.
The best part is that Aleph One is now playable over the Internet, provided you have a broadband connection. For that you need the newest build from SourceForge (it hasn't been posted yet to the official Aleph One website, so make sure you get the the May 30th build or later from SourceForge). To find players, try the "Aleph One" AIM chatroom.
And while we're on the topic of oldschool Bungie games, why not dig up that Myth II CD and try the newly released Myth 1.4 update which brings such niceties as Mac OS X support and OpenGL hardware acceleration to one of the finest RTS games.
