G5 or not this is what Apple's competition is coming up with at the end of this year, and certainly in time for MW San Fransisco.





16 DDR SDRAM memory sockets, 8 for each processor with NUMA



128-bit DDR SDRAM memory interface with PC 2700



starting at 2 Ghz and up with 25 percent higher IPC than current Athlons and 64 bit memory adressing.

    16 RAM slots?!?



    That sucker can support 8GB of RAM...that is twice the size of my current HDD!



    (Desktop G3/266, 288MB RAM, 4GB HDD--still waiting for a REAL PowerMac)
