The 3gpp layer for QuickTime is awesome.

I downloaded the Halo 2 movie.

I snipped a bit out, exported it to 3gpp in QuickTime player.

I sent it to my P800 using Bluetooth.

It worked. It just played straight away.

Just so stupidly, ridiculously easy.

Good Apple.

    I don't think you can.

If you can find an MPEG-4 player that will do the trick; there is no QT player for the P800 but it works anyway using the Packetvideo player (and there may be one of those for Palm).

Harald, could you be a little more specific about this process? I've got a Nokia 3650 and I'd like to try it out. What program do you use on your P800 and is it available for the N3650? TIA.

On the P800 I use the built in PacketVideo player. I know that all the new Nokia phones are compliant out the box; officially the P800 isn't ... but it can deal with MPEG-4.

Literally, open any video file in QT and export it as 3GPP (don't forget to d/l the 3GPP component from Apple). Use the "Export ... " menu item to do it. The codec is at the top of the list if you installed it. It doesn't seem to be be part of default 6.3 installation.

You are walked through the whole process, even through the creation of streaming mobile files. Very well done.
