That's strange. Jobs specifically referred to it as 10.3 according to I Palindrome I at Ars. I haven't watched the Apple webcast though.

I will post the Version 11 one tomorrow. It's on my work box.

Hope this wasn't a big deal and I didn't get anyone else in trouble.

I can't imagine why that would be anything besides a boo-boo. I mean, what are they going to say? "Surprise, we changed the version number! Of course, everything else about it is the same." Hell, it might have been an inside joke alluding to Spinal Tap.

the press version says 10.3 now.

Both images are still on Apple's servers.

Edit: These links are really long and I think they are getting messed up being posted to the forum. Basically, just click the link on apple's site and delete the "2" from the image title. (Make it "panther_cd.tif.hqx" rather than "panther_cd2.tif.hqx")

    "Mac OS X Version 11"

    "Mac OS X Version 10.3"

Certainly just a mistake...unless they were originally planning to make it Version 11 but couldn't stand saying "Mac OS Ten Eleven"

I think it's odd that the 10.3 image opened by default into Preview, but the 11 image opened by default in Photoshop...

Regardless, it was probably just a small mistake.
