Personally, I'm tired of so much white in Jaguar. I'd like more contrast, and metal does that for me quite nicely -- PathFinder, Safari.
However, Panther Aqua seems to solve the problem anyway. So I'm mildly disappointed that the Finder won't inherit the "platinum" style. But the improvements more than make up for it.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned much -- did anyone else notice in the demo that the views now seem to be global rather than window-specific settings? So if you set the widget to column view, you will always be in column view, no matter what. That's a big deal to me.
Though I have to wonder what happened to list view. I do use that one too...
