Iced tea, sparking mineral water, or just plain water for me.

    HOT TEA

Strange as this quaint custom might seem, there are many parts of the world, where their idea of a " cool me down " thirst quencher is a hot cup of tea.

Bushies in Oz use it, as do many aboriginal people ( boiling a billy & then swinging it over their heads to settle the tea leaves ).

Don't know who invented the idea, but the English Raj in India used to make it a bit of a ritual that has since become mainstream Indian culture..or was it the other way around ?

    Hot tea for cooling ?

    Now that IS wierd !

    What's " yerba " ?

As for not eating anything was this a fast thing, lack of money or an ashram guru spiritual enlightenment thing ?

Soda Water with a twist of Lime.

For thirst quenching, I can't go past orange juice. Call me a country bumpkin.

Have to agree with Powerdoc: volvic is the best tasting mineral water, bar none.

So it's not just me! Though I use coffee. You just can't have too many espressos during a day. An nice espresso, long, with a little raw sugar, not too sweet. Ummm...

Too bad starbuck's/Timothy's/2nd Cup et al, make horrible espressos. When about I have to stick to "coffee" but at home I make a killer espresso.

yerba itself means herb, so one of its meanings is something to smoke ... yerba mate instead, here something about it. that and tea takes away the sense of hunger of me .. for the rest, just didn't feel like eating.

Now I know what you mean.

    Thanx.

For a moment there I thought you were slyly alluding to " Erbal " herb meaning .....weed Gunjagunja

But yes we have plenty of weird and wonderful herbal teas here too.

Mind you I have never tried drinking Clam juice..sounds Yuksville.

There some down here who reckon on making a Tea brewed up with gum leaves..

They say it gives them a clear head, others say it gives them visions..but mostly i've just seen them drink it, then run around like bushflies for a few minutes before falling over....

    HoRcHaTa water!!!

Aiyaiyaiyai! It tastes great and brings the COLD right to the core of your body. If you want alcoholic, you can always hit it with some coconut rum. They go great together!

(...and don't buy the pre-bottled stuff in a store. You got to buy da powda and mix it yourself. Goooood stuff!)

I'll second lemonade. Those folksy Countrytime ads get me everytime! The hammock, kids running through the sprinkler, etc...

volvic is the best, i agree.

i'm sure that your location has nothing to do with your preference?
