Apple'd have to diversify again. Right now it's focuses are
Consumer computers
Prosumer computers
Small servers
Consumer products
I don't think the 1 GHz G4 qualifies as a Professional Machine. The PM won't until it can Photoshop with PCs that cost $3500 like it does.
if Apple does this, hopefully it will go
Consumer computers
Consumer products
Small servers
Large servers
Professional computers
Professional products
The professional products include this newfangled thingie.
The consumer products include the possible TiVo-type thing and whatevert the iPod becomes. Also cameras, scanners, whatever.
I've been reading a fair bit on the forums and rumors sites. I think I was quite a bit on the mark with this one awhile back.

Not sure about the ichat item....but that would be cool as well. Here's hoping!
Interesting idea. Combined with iChat it might just be a good idea for our favorite fruit company. There is, however, one small issue: most Mac users do not have a webcam-like device.
In my opinion, we won't see video conferencing unless Apple also release a camcorder or webcam.
Just my $0.02.
Can't wait, just hope it works with linksys router and OS X. My parents can't connect to my machine and I don't know how to find the prob or fix it. Maybe Apple will make it easier.

you need to open the appropriate ports on the router. you talking http, ftp, ssh, what?
