So the question is...g5 with free isight

g5 wit free free printer

The only way to take pics with it is through iChat and using the buddy icon function... hmm... sounds like a good cocoa app that would make someone thousands of dollars....

I have an iSight (in fact, 4

) but, I think that you should always go with what you need most.

You can take pics i guess by just using the screen capture or grab. You can record video with QuickTime Broadcaster (free download) http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/broadcaster/

I would think that any of the QT compatible WebCam softwares out there would work with iSight.

iSight will work with tons of software including QT broadcaster and EvoCam.

I've got one and love it even if I'd get more use out of a printer.

Someday... a long lost friend will give me a ring in iChat AV. I'm ready for the future today... too bad my friends aren't.
