Well, they've not had any sort of "ad blitz" in the past 3-4 years (for OS X, the new iMac, any of the iApps, the platform in general, etc.) so what makes anyone think the G5 will be different?
Most of the people who'll get excited about the G5 and buy them in any sort of numbers will be - you guessed it - current Mac users, the "already faithful".
If Apple did any sort of strong, aggressive and all-over-the-place "ad blitz" of any kind, I'd fall out of my chair...partly from delight, but mostly from pure, genuine shock.
We are on the verge of a new performance era. We need ads of yore (1998) that portray smoked intel bunnies and steamrollers crushing laptops, but in a more modern and relavent sense.
Does Steve and Co. want us to remain small on purpose?
It's so frustrating to talk to people and continually hear:
? Is Apple still around?
? No software
? How can it connect to the internet without windows?

? They dont know what OSX is
? Or any of the iApps
? And that Macs are only good for graphics
This is aggitating me! Sorry, had to vent
I am right there with you. The only windows people that don't think this that I know are a few of my friends who have actually used my 17" iMac. It really is frustrating!
