i just got the book "Cocoa Programming For Mac OS X"

the first example has me make a new project and open the nib file to add stuff to it...i add two buttons and a text field (does it matter which text field?) it tells me then to click on the classes tab and select NSOBject so i can make a Subclass NSObject

but there is no NSObject to select

What i see:

What i SHOULD see according to the book:

notice where it says "scroll to the far left". The classes are listed in a tree, branching off to their subclasses. Since NSObject is the base for just about everything, its at the root of the tree (the far left).

it caught me the first time too. its kind of annoying how it automatically selects the class of the last object you touched. sometimes i wish the computer could read my mind and know what i was looking for. someday.
