Today is iCal's birthday I believe. The default setting in your dock says Jul 17.

This was the day of the MacWorld New York Stevenote in 2002, when he first announced iCal (and iSync, iTunes 3, etc.). It actually showed up in September IIRC.

Surprising that there aren't any "iCal icon won't update!" threads around here.

Wouldn't it be great if iCal updated the dock icon with correct date

Yeah that would be kinda be key for a calendar app especially seeing how Apple trumpets the Dock.

I love iCal though, I could not survive without it, now that I do appointments for Cutco. Imagine if Apple got a deal with Palm and ported it! Or if they made their own PDA. Wow I was on a laptop at sears yesterday and I opened "Microsoft Works Calendar" haha Microsoft Works haha but anyway, I had to laugh at their latest Apple copy. iCal makes other calendar programs look silly. iCal 2 will make them look like poop stuck on the bottom of a toilet.

    My dads birthday too...

Oh and here is the solution to the updating iCal icon.

    1.) Load prefs

    2.) Click login items

    3.) Add iCal

    4.) (optionally) check hide.
