ipod format questions...
Just a few questions dealing with the file formats on the ipod...
Is AAC a lossy compression format or lossless?
One thing I've noticed is that even though every single song on my ipod is ripped directly from a CD, some tracks don't sound as well. On my ibook the tracks sound fine, but I think my roommate has moved a few tracks around, would this cause the tracks to resave and therefore cause file degradation since MP3s are a lossy compression?

File degradation via copying files?
File degradation via copying files?
No sir, it is sir or mam, bleagh, sleep dep. Okay, no what I was thinking was resaving a file after opening, such as JPEG file degradation after multiple openings and savings of the same file (not copying). Is this the same sort of operation the ipod update goes through? If not, why is these specific tracks sound funny on my ipod, but sound okay on my ibook while the other tracks sound fine on both? Just some weird anomaly?
