i remember that from before i forgot the name though, i may have to get some of that, i wen to staples and bought a real cheap thing to keep it clean/clean it until i get a real cleaning system
I think that klearscreen stuff sucks. It smears. And, from their FAQ, the only reason not to use 'windex' is :
"Q Why can't I use a "glass cleaner" on my laptop's LCD display screen?
A Don't make a $2,000 mistake cleaning your laptop screen with a $2 glass cleaner & a paper towel! LCD display screens are almost universally made of plastic. Plastics & computer manufacturers consistently do not recommend alcohol or ammonia - based cleaners. Repeated applications of alcohol on plastic will turn your screen surface "yellow", make it brittle and cause "stress cracking" (hairline scratches) on your screen surface."
I thought Windex does use ammonia. Ammonia is a weak base I think... and bases, like acids, are corrosive. Try smelling some Windex sometime and find out if it has that telltale ammonia scent.
I just use water plus some very soft tissues (like Puffs).
I've got a big box (90 pack) os Sam's Club Optical Lens Cloths, which boasts "Ideal for lenses and computer screens." Surprisingly enough, it's right - these little individually-packaged cloths do very well on my laptop screen (PB G4). Very cheap, too.
The best solution would be to get one of those lens-cleaner ultra-soft fabrics, and use that. I have a piece of cloth like that, and it gets rid of all smears, and does absolutely no damage.
yeah i use sometimes just to clean the dust but i always have some sopts that require a slightly damp 100% t-shirt as i mentioned above. i don't think water and that cloth would be a good combo

It's a spray and soft, dustless tissues. I just spray onto the tissue and gently wipe.
Works for me. Just don't press too hard (this is true with any product) because you don't want to grind anything into the screen.

Windex = bad.

So, if you use windex, which uses vinegar instead of ammonia you should be ok, no?

1 clean dry microfiber cloth.
Damp cloth over LCD screen - dry cloth over screen to finish.
Simple. Cheap. Effective. Won't eat your screen.
