  i thought cybersquatting was made illegal or soemthing, wasn't it?
  
  
  
  you know, if the internic (or whoever handles this stuff these days) would just require people to register as a business (even just to get a certificate from their chamber of commerce or city hall) BEFORE they were eligible for a dot.COM(mercial) domain, a lot of this crap wouldn't happen. i mean, i like the fact that i have several domains (all of which i have plans for), but, in all honesty, i shouldn't have as many dot.com's as i do (especially since i am not a business yet, in any way shape or form), and i should not be given the chance to grab the .org's and other domain variants as well. i mean, the whole point of those domain markers was to give some semblance of order and organization to all these sites, right???

  p.s. i had heard (this may be urban legend, so take it for what it is worth) that "attack of the clones" was used instead of "clone wars" or "the clone wars" because every tom, dick and harry had gobbled up every conceivable variant of the domain name based off their reference in the original "star wars: a new hope" film. the fact that lucas bought every inane combination of "the phantom menace" before the first flick lends some believeability to that tale, too.

  First rule of good domain names...keep it simple and short.
  
  Second rule, avoid dashes or punctuation.
