The G4 are mullered, so what about the G5.

If you have a look at Chiris' Lightwave benchmarks http://www.blanos.com/benchmark and choose the Tracer Radiocity scene and at least 50 results, it gives a pretty good idea as to how bad the G4's are in current real world tests.

Has anyone with a G5 been able to run these tests, because then we will really know how good the G5 really is.

i checked the numbers for lightwave raytracing on

    1. windows 2000 3,4 GHz Pentium 4

    2. Mac OS X 1,4GHz G4 dual

both take 90 seconds... *lol* ....

i think the G5 will crush the Pentium 4

Somehow, I think we'll know within a milisecond, when the first AIer receives a G5.

Also... your depiction of the 'real world' gave me a chuckle. I wish my real world involved 'Tracer Radiocity scene[s]'.
