What do you think this means? AIM for windows and iChatAV? iSights for windows? Big potential here for Apple.

Why was AV on AIM banned by the FCC? Why was Apple allowed to do it? If iChat AV will work with AIM it will be übercool.

Does voice chat already work with Windblows users?

That's my hope. I've tried to convert people to Apple, but the process is slow... In the meantime, I'd like a reason to get an iSight...

Because (AOL/)Time/Warner has a massive *video* IP collection. The fear was (is?) that TW could use the videoconf to push their content to AIM users via 'on demand video'. Ie, using their position as one of the world's largest content owners to try and lock in a proprietary other market, ie, content distribution.

It was seen as an anti-anti-competition move by the FCC.

Apple has no such content library, so there was no potential conflict.
