I am trying to paly a game of chess with a friend of mine, we are chatting through AIM, and have downloaded chessworks 3, but it didn't let us host games(might have been a firewall thing, I'll look into it later) We also tried the internet chess club, with a couple of clients, but that didn't make any sense.

why can't this be easier? like through AIM or something.

anyone know of the easiest way to get this to work?

my friend isn't terribly computer savvy, he is using XP, that's about all I know.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...yahoo looks like a possibility, but any other suggestions? I like to have as many options as possible.

I've always used http://www.nabiscoworld.com/games/cat_puzzles.htm but I never looked hard for a better one.
