I bought 2x512 PNY PC 2700 RAM for my G5 for 175 dollars from compusa. Just waiting for my G5 to arrive and plug the RAM in, also got an extra 80 GB Seagate SATA hard drive for about 85 dollars for storing movies and songs.
Check the http://www.resellerratings.com of that place and the other places on pricewatch. Ordering from someone with a score below 8.5 out of 10 is just asking for trouble.
I ordered and already got a 1gb stick for about 180 from 18004memory.
I hope you're getting a 1.6GHz G5 because the only 1GB sticks I found at 18004memory are PC2700 sticks which will not work in the 1.8GHz and 2.0GHz systems.

Yes I am getting the 1.6 Does this still mean that i will need one more stick for it to work?

Thats the cheapest I've found. If this macconnection additional 1gb of free ram w/ my 1.8 does not work out, I will be ordering from crucial.

It appears you need to use them in pairs. Atleast thats what I'm hearing.

Do you mean that I have to have 2 1gb sticks of ram?

Being that it comes with 2 128mb sticks, I would guess you would still need pairs.
EDIT: plus if you use the memory upgrade selector on crucial.com it shows you need it in pairs for the 1.6 (as well as 1.8 and 2.0).
