iSight with a 400 Mhz G3-Possible?
I'd like to be able to set up 2 iSights, one here in Boston and one at home... both running on G3 400 iMacs...I thought I read about a hack for something like this... would it help me out? what does it do?
does ram matter that much? i have 512 on one machine and 192 on the other (total of 3 chips)...

read the page... there's another hack you have to install with it and the link is on that page.
This will let you use the iSight or ANY firewire DVcam (or USB cam) with any G3 ... I have used it on my iBook (466 G3) and iMac (266 G3).
just be aware that these machines don't really process the video fast enough for a really smooth session ... but it's useable on the 466.

Well, just think about it as money that you'll save back from not having to make long distance phone calls. (I'm very good about rationalizing purchases to myself).
not worth $ unless iChat AV FR doesn't allow this capability...

That's some nerve! Charging money for a valuable product or service. Somebody should report them immediately!
or $1200 + for a new computer so you can use your isight.
The guy put in some effort to buld the hack ... pay him for his time !
