Despite the Quadro4 branding, the nVidia card is crap. You think you can safely run two 1.8 GHz Opterons on a 460W PSU? Heh. No FW, no S-ATA, PC2700 and a smaller HDD? $390 premium? I'll be conservative and call it a draw.

    Troll on, dude.

I can just change the prices you posted and say otherwise... Of course i would need evidence, but i wouldnt know what every company price of a machine, obviously you do... But no evidence? This is what I call, bias.

Because I obviously can't got to dell.com and buy my own PC, or handpick components from newegg, googlegear, and Fry's to build my own.

We are comparing 64-bit PowerPC and the next generation of X86, whatever the fundamental architecture has been decided to be named. This discussion pertains to Apple, IBM, and Motorola (to an odd extent) on one side of the bench, and the proponents of the other, AMD, Intel, and Microsoft. If you really had beef with the G5, you should've gone straight to IBM, the chip fabricators, but you decided to take it up with Apple, a software company. So let's just stop being equivocal.

It's not BS because you're ignorant. Just got to www.boxxtech.com and store.apple.com and configure the exact systems yourself.

EDIT: I'll save you the trouble considering the incompetence you've already displayed.

First of all, if you were "not here to hate or like, simply to make a point," then you wouldn't be so rude and angry with your posts. If you wanted to prove a point here you'd get much farther if you simply stated your reasoning and the facts to support it.

Secondly, I'd like to direct you to this quote from my previous post:

I said specifically that you needn't be a Mac user to post. You don't even have to like Macs to post. I know a number of PC-only users post here, sometimes they say they want to switch to a Mac and sometimes they don't. But at least they show a little respect, and are polite.

Yes now start with stereotypes that PCs break down every sec. Obviously, OS X never crashes or screws up right?

But do I care what you will say on this? Can you really assume whos personal pc is more stable than whose?

But what I can say is that Windows OS has been ported to appliances, machines and handhelds.

While the OS X has only been for desktop computers. I think that says enough.

    Wow, that's such astonishing logic!

I think in Devlin's case, mental age = post count.

Is this how mac users respect?

Not a stereotype, EXPERIENCE. I was PC user for years, I never used a Mac until this year. All the PCs I've had were constantly bugging out. All the PCs my friends had were also bugging out, constant problems due to MS OS. Sorry, but have you ever had extensive use of a Mac. It is so friggin easy. I hardly ever have communication problems, if I do I just make sure I didn't accidently unplug my printer or scanner.

If you're going to be an ass at least be funny and entertaining.

I can completely say otherwise, but would you believe me? So why would I believe you?

If there is a way you can prove your little hypothesis that all PCs are unstable, than I will believe you.

    ROFL!!!!

Its not hard to figure out that u just want to down play the G5 because your a mac hater...

    also... soapbox is liying.

There are plenty of sites with benchmarks that say the G5 is the fastest, and vice versa.

But if the 1.6Ghz G5 is about as fast as a 2.4-2.8GHz PC then think about the dual 2Ghz model!

Obviously, Windows is so pervasive in the tech market that even if the Macintosh platform was better for handheld devices and the like, it wouldn't get very far.

I will say that Windows XP is quite stable. I used it exclusively for about a month earlier this year. The main difference wasn't that it crashed more often, but that it crashed harder. I don't know how Windows handles applications/processes, but whenever an application would freeze up it would take forever to end the task. I would click End Task many times but it usually took a couple minutes. My Mac has only very rarely given me a problem like that. Usually, when programs crash on OS X, they can be ended quickly and cleanly.

    I can't respect a troll.

You call Mac users biased, yet you can't admit bias on your part.

Did you happen to check the link that Eugene posted regarding Opteron vs G5 prices?

And saying that the G5 is no better than the G4 is just silly.

The architecture of the PowerMac G5 is overwhelming better than the G4.

And don't place too much emphesis on the G5 benchmarks that are coming out - the real test will be when Panther is released.

The G5's with OS X 10.3 will rock. 10.2.7 is only an incremental update until Panther is debuts.

I didn't say all, I said my experience. Sure I'll believe you've good experiences on PCs, wish I could say the same for my friends and I. My friends believe it or not are still PC users. Get burned once... but burned twice thrice... The fact is MS puts out a shit OS IMO
