Any chance for lower iPod prices at Macworld NY?

I certainly hope so..I'm holding off buying an iPod until the summer's end and that $100 off would be very nice right now...

I've been clamoring for a lower price ever since it came out.

The Apple website had some refurbished ones for $299 a little while ago.

    I

can't see it going down to much lower than that at MWNY.

Well, I am personally expecting a 50-100 dollar price drop on the iPod in MWNY or shortly thereafter, and maybe a 20 GB model at some point.

But in all seriousness, this is a topic for either Current Hardware or Digital Hub, not Future Hardware. Lock?

i wouldn't count on it. with the recent profit warning, apple still needs every dollar they can get in the current crappy economy.

the 5GB iPod was 299 new in box at JandR last weekend and combined with the Apple rebate I got it for 199.

    not bad.

apple is making a ton on them. the drive in a firewire case sells for 99 bucks now

    Ok, dumb question. What's "JandR?"

And thanks, guys. I'll still keep up hope. Maybe I'll wait until they drop in price. Hopefully that'll be in a couple weeks.

This thread. Its Future Hardware. iPod is current Hardware or Digital Hub stuff. Maybe if it were about a new iPod it'd belong here, but this convo is all about current iPod pricing.....so yeah....off topic. Just saying anyways.

who gives a **** . leave it up to the mods. don't ruin the thread just because you think it belongs somewhere else. it's not your decision.
