Local news story on new iPod = Free publicity

Just what the subject says. I was watching the news and they had a "story" on Apple's new iPods and how they hold 10,000 songs -- which amazed the anchors. The video they had showed the old design Pods, but still.

Has anybody else experienced this? Has Apple managed to get free publicity from your local news? Pretty cool if you ask me...

...which you didn't. But still.

My local paper likes to through in the iPod whenever it mentions Apple. This happens a lot all over the place.

I'm not sure, but I heard the KRON4, the SFBA station for NBC(?) ran a story on the iPod too. I didn't see it, so I'm not sure.

BTW, I hear a lot about the G5 commercial everywhere I go. I sure have been seeing it on TV alot.

In Denver, one of the local news stations was reporting on the RIAA law suits and they were in the Cherry Creek Apple store showing off iTunes and the iPod as the legal way to download music off the net.
