Seems like Jobs said both new PowerBooks to be available TODAY... I can't wait to order a new 1.25Mhz 15" PB w/Superdrive and the rest of the goodies.... I think it is a great deal, specially for me, coming from a recently sold Ti 400.

hmm...this is the first time I've ever gone out of my way to get info of a keynote. I usually am perfectly content to just go to sleep, or get distracted with other things then check back many hours later once all has been said and done.

It was pretty interesting the "play by play" in a way, I think that this method of "viewing" a keynote is more exciting than the real thing, because the updates are inconsistent, and vague, and it all unravels one bit at a time. but then again, I hear tell steve is an excellent stage presence, and he really manages to keep things interesting while he's up there. So I don't really know.

I don't think I'll be doing this again for the next big keynote though...well...maybe if there is a live video feed.

the new powerbooks...well...they are nice, probably the best we could have hoped for without them going g5. I wish there was a $100 price on the 15" though.

I wish that "one more thing" would have been a little bit cooler, though this new wireless thing is kind of intriguing, the adaptable frequency hopping, sounds cool, I still don't care for wireless mice though\

I wish they would have changed the look of the keyboard and mouse. The wireless is nice but the white just doesn't do it for me. It doesn't look right with the G5 or the Powerbooks.

Cool Wireless Mouse and Keyboard as well...

HAH ONE FRIGGIN BUTTON, I will always be right when it comes to that. People will argue for days about why apple will release a two button mouse, but they never will.

If I'm correct, those prices above are listed in Euros. If that is true we should have the following prices in Dollars:

    1) New 17" Powerbook: 1.33GHz, 2GB Max, $3358.88

    2) 15" Powerbook 1.25GHz G4 Combodrive $2238.88

    3) 15" Powerbook with superdirve $2798.88

    4) 12" Powerbook with 512k Cache $1790.88

    5) 12" Powerbook with superdrive $2014.88

These are estimates taking the current exchange rate of the Euro to the USD, which is 1.12.

Honestly, I think if you were to buy the 15" with the superdrive, might has well fork the extra cash to get the 17" powerbook. With an educational discount, $300 is taken off of the top model compared to $200 for the 15" models.

Now would be a perfect opportunity to pick up a Titanium 15" for a good bargin.

    the 12 inch is LAAAAMME!!!

I still don't understand why no backlit keyboard.

I'd be willing to pay extra for it if they had it as an optional feature. I just DON'T want a 15 or a 17 inch TABLE. I want a PORTABLE.

I'm still about to order one, but that's just out of necessity. Not because I'm a happy consumer.

This upgrade is not revolutionary, but it's still a very solid one!

Within the last month (if you count the G5 shipping) both the Power Macs, iMacs and now the PowerBooks have been upgraded. This is good news!

No L3 cache in any of them?

Is the larger L2 supposed to make up for that?

And WHY, Apple, do you insist on shipping 512MB of RAM as TWO 256MB chips?!

Otherwise, I'm pleased with the 15.

Man, I just purchased the 15" Powerbook 1.25Ghz. I decided to go without the Superdrive (I already have this drive in my PC Pioneer A04) and scaled down on the 80gig, only need 60gig drive. Those Mofos charged me $178 in tax. I ended up paying $2378 with the addition of the Mac Office OS X student version.

Your is the run down of what I got:

    PowerBook 1.25GHz (15.2" TFT) \t \t \t Z07E \t \t 3-5 bus.days \t \t 1 \t \t $2,051.00 \t \t $2,051.00

    \tBacklit Keyboard/Mac OS - U.S. English \t065-4495 \t

    \t512MB DDR333 SDRAM - 2x256 SO-DIMMs \t065-4139 \t

    - Good to see they have adopted the 7457 finally.

    - Speed is what was expected.

    - The Radeon 9600 is very nice.

    - The prices are a bit insane, imho. 3000,- EUR for the 15" top config is tough.
