I had a stock machine except for a downgrade to the Combo drive. Just got the same email. I am IRATE. On the phone now, waiting for a manager.

Yep, same here. Oct 14th...standard config...ordered July 10th. Pathetic.

Some of the MacNN posts seem to be suggesting that the email is automatically sent when your "day" arrives without the computer shipping. Regardless, I am calling an bitching until I get something free. This is a horrendous way to treat top dollar customers who buy your highest margin products!

Combo drives are not "highest margin." Serves you right for not buying a Superdrive

And yet, there is a guy in one of the other threads on this board that stated that he ordered his on August 28 and has received it. A stock dual 2ghz. I thought they were filling orders in the order that they were received.

On top of waiting for my G5, I've also had 2 iPods bumped 5 times. Ordered them on 9/12, and just got another email about 1/2 hour ago, saying the same thing about those too.

What the hell is going on there?

Damn my poverty ridden student life! You are right, that is what I get for ordering just long enough after they were introduced (07/06) for Apple to know I love them but I dont LOVE them. How can I make you notice me Apple, since $2500 doesn't seem to be doing the trick? Maybe if I reactivate my eWorld account . . . ?

You're a student? Just get your educational institution to order 1100 duals.

Did anyone else get the second email saying that the first one was incorrect? The second email said my machine would ship in 3 to 5 days...and then a few hours after that, the order status page said "Shipped" - which I didn't believe until I got a tracking number.

For reference I ordered on July 10th, stock configuration.
