Wish my machine could take more RAM :(

My Dual GHz SlowSilver? has full 1.5GB of RAM....



....and now I am starting to feel this is NOT enough!



I have been working with some massive files for a few weeks....



.....and God.....



After Effects (with a half High Def resolution footage with over 40 layers), Photoshop (with a 500MB file!), Cinema (with a huge scene), InDesign (working on a 300+ page annual report) etc etc etc......are causing severe RAM-HD paging due to "lack of RAM"



.....result? Don't need to tell.....



Looks like when I am getting a new machine I "must" put at least 4GB of RAM.....

    Can you say G5? Even if you got a G5 the RAM you say you'd need would be *very* costly. Sorry!

    Eight 512MB sticks should be "inexpensive"



    Of course go with the 1GB stick is another story

    nah, the ram for my g5 was very reasonable. i have 2.5 gb in and still 2 slots free.
