Looks like the Pointy-Hatted One is in a "Bad Way."

Place your bets. I say Thursday at 2:14 ET. Closest without going over wins.

P.S. I served enough time in the Catholic church to be afforded some latitude.

I'll give him 30 days from the posted date and time on this reply.

But two more years wouldn't surprise me either.

*psst* You left out the 't'... which is kind of ironic, really, given its shape...

Yeah, I'm going to hell for that one. Sleep deprivation + vicodin. Menu of champions.

    Off topic, but ...

Watch out for the vic. Had two friends go through rough times after the course of medication was finished.

Thanks - I survived six weeks of a full Percoset every *two hours* post surgery with no ill effects, and this is just twice a week for physical therapy pain management, but on top of pulling an all-nighter? Oy.

We now return you to your irregularly scheduled blasphemy.

    What *I* wanna know is...

    Who's next in line?

The Malachy prophecies state that the next pope will be the *last* one. Not that I believe in them, but a lot of people do. Should be interesting to see what happens...

I'm surprised he didn't die the same day John Ritter and Johnny Cash died. It would have been a John death trifecta. I guess his real name isn't John though.

Why Italian? For the record, John Paul II is Polish, and his real name is Karol Wojtyla. It's no guarantee the next Pope will be Italian.

According to the Malachy prophecies it is...if you believe in that stuff.

You know I just looked up the prophecies again and I think you're forgetting one: "Gloria olivae". Then the Italian will come and he'll be the last one. Or something.

I'm sure one day soon his spine will just SNAP from all that hunching over. It will be really cool.

Boy, that's really covering your bases. "And the last Pope before the Last Judgment shall be Italian" is like saying "The last Mac to be sold before Apple goes under will still be expensive." Lesse, there have been about 400 Popes, and about 397 of them have been Italian?

Y'all just better hope it doesn't happen on November 1.

That's really just sick, pal. My father had Parkison's Disease and it ain't no walk in the park. I also think it is sickening how the Vatican keeps him going too though. They definitely need newer, younger blood running their "show". The Vatican et al is still so medieval in their ways.

But let's give Pope John some credit, he was an interesting Pope to say the least. And one of the most popular. Sadly he's just a puppet now. I don't care when he dies...just hope it's peacefully.
