Forget it, I wrote too soon. I didn't think to look in my sound control panel. Duh!
umm, they shouldnt work, or if they do, you may have problems because the cube speakers take more power than regular usb can provide over the ports. Apple recommended connecting them to the machine itself(not keyboard) or the usb jacks on the display(if you have an adc monitor)
