Force quit window now remembers it's last size and location.
The auto-picture adjustments with iChat/iSight are much improved. The image is now more life-like in all the lighting conditions i've tried. Before, it was green and dark much of the time.
Just some observations to fuel the endless speculation:
The ADC site was down for maintenance for several hours last night.
Now, on the Download Software area of Apple's Developer Connection web site, the last seeded build of Panther (7B74) has been moved off of the main What's New page (it is still on the Mac OS X page). Xcode 7B74 and 10.2.8 6R73 are still on the What's New page.
I was just about to post on this. This can only mean that Panther final will be going up any day now.
Wouldn't it be cool if they put it all on one DVD? That would probably be cheaper anyway, less packing. I mean who doesn't have a DVD drive that can run Panther? Not many.

The base install only requires Disc One. Only if you are going to install iApps do you need Disc Two and Disc Three only has new voices on it.

A lot of people, especially eMac and iBook owners. It practically doesn't cost them anything for the media, and packaging wouldn't be much different if it were 2 CDs, 1 DVD or all of the above.
Kinda like iLife. iTunes, iMovie and iPhoto come on a CD. iDVD comes on a DVD which also holds the three other apps.
Another questionable issue with 7B85 is the selection of desktops in this build. Normally Apple would increase or change the variety of desktop patterns with each OS update. However, 7B85 only has the old series of graphics. Even more strange is the continuing inclusion of Jaguar pattern but without a Panther option, whatever that might be.

God! It's not even OUT yet!
Can't they have SOME surprises? \
There's no reason to include the desktops with the Developer builds. So why would they?

saw gobs of new desktop patterns, They are in there, you just gotta dig.
That's the whole point. Is it a beta developer build or is it GM?
But in any case, there's no reason to short change developers on such trivial matter.
I am not seeing any extra desktop pictures and I am using 7B85, which I believe is the GM. I am not sure though. People have been saying that 7B85 is the GM but I haven't seen any confirmation of that yet. What I know for sure is that Panther IS done and there IS a GM, I just don't know what the build ID of the GM is.

This is my mortal fear for not being able to Hotsync my Palm after the upgrade!
Thanks.
Set your desktop to arrange by name... then set it back.
(Icons now return to there previous positions.)
Running 78B5 and yes, I do get extra desktop pictures...
They also say builds are up to 7C02.
So, is 10.3 not finished or are they already at work on 10.3.1?
