why would apple pull EtherNet and a modem, yet still have AirPort ability?

This makes no sense, none, none, this is a poorly drawn up dream

    A G4 "TiTablet" for $1300!?

    I - WANT - TO - BELIEVE!!!

Why no modem or Ethernet (without paying for them extra)? Easy, to emphasize that this should compliment a Mac not replace one.

Why "Airport ready" as opposed to Airport built-in is just beyond me.

Screed ...did I mention I want to believe? But I doubt it...

AirPort *is* Ethernet, just without the cumbersome, thick, heavy wires.

AirPort is where its at for Apple. I would believe if this guy had some more specific info (part # or some spy photo).

Nice to dream tho... ahhh pretty...

    ummmmmm

i would DEFINITELY think that apple would give the POWERBOOK 2 firewire ports before these "devices" you have conjured up

Interesting concept, however it's clearly fake.

IF Apple were actually going to build either of these units, they would have chosen ONE to mass produce.

There is no way they would build them both, with only a relatively small difference in price, and add immense confusion on what they target of the product is for.

AND...if you believe Apple could build a 12.1" G4 system for $1299, even with ethernet and modem removed (which probably add about $50 to the cost to build the system at most), then it makes FAR more sense for that G4 to just go into the current iBook design.

Sorry...but these were both just designed from a good imagination. Nothing more...

If Apple planning to release somekind of PDA-like Personal Computer using a G3 PowerPC as its CPU, it would be no doubt that it would be a revised version of the iBook. Well... With the recent inclusion of Mac OS X's ?Ink? (codename is ?Inkwell?), it's no doubt that they probably gonna do somekind of handwriting stuff on the iBook.

After all, the iBook was once said supposed to be the successor of the eMate.

Anyway. If there's gonna be a PDA type Digital Device (not a Laptop/Notebook) from Apple, iMate would definetly be a nice name.

What if, what if, what if... these were actual the tablets? The entire computer was the display? hmmm...

Sounds like a good idea but will people buy it? The portable computer market is already broken into different markets: pda, ultra-light, light, desktop replacement tops, etc. I really don't think a tablet would work, but, if Microsoft is willing to go into the a new portable market, don't you think Apple has to respond with something crazier?

They say "THE" killer apps of the late 90's was the cell phone and the web. Both enabled people to do incredible things. Be wireless and talk with anybody, anywhere on the planet, what a crazy idea. Get information from any computer from anywhere on the planet, what a crazy idea.

What if somehow Apple combined the too. Would you buy a product which can get access to the web from anywhere? I would. How many times did you wish you had a web browser in your car so you can access local traffic or even recheck MapQuest?

    They would sell millions...

Interesting how most posts like this are by a person with less than five posts and they speak in bad English.

I'd have to say that's a fairly poor generalization. There's folks on this board with hundreds of posts that write just as badly. And English is their first language!

Writing in a second (third/fourth/.../n) language is a great deal more difficult than speaking it.

Granted, this post is completely bogus, but judge it by the content, not the grammar.

Oh, do feel free however to rip any native english speakers that write that poorly.

Well, if there is no new G4/G5 at MWNY, what should Steve jobs will do half of his keynote speech?

MWNY is second big show for Mac lover and APPLE & Steve need big bang for bad sale season.

And New G4/G5 is not big enough, then that will be something better.

    We will see.

P.S.: it is simmilar to i****v2.

The concept of the i****v1/2 has been with us on AI boards for at least two years. Its been so long I can't remember. What I do remember - was the talk about what these things could do - especially from kormac76 and 68K!

I have managed to go this far without one (not knowing what one really is) but still wonder how it might effect or change the way I interact and work. Many small pieces are slotting into place...

    Rondevous

    iChat

    Ink

    Bluetooth

    Airport

    small HDs

    etc

all waiting for a Hardware solution which will utilise their potential to maximum effect because it can do *really* cool stuff.

I hope Apple rewards the patience of those who have waited a few weeks - maybe just one more week to go <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> who knows???

While I enjoy your posts and your broken prose, I find it interesting that you only surface the week before a MacWorld Expo. Don't you have anything to say the other 48 weeks of the year?
