There's no doubt about its fakeness; now, even SpyMac itself concedes that. <a href="http://iwalkstuff.tripod.com" target="_blank">Here</a> is a mirror of all the old videos and images.
In case anyone remembers, or cares...there were TWO iWalk hoaxes from Spymac. The first came shortly before the intro of the iPod in October. If you'd like to see what they had to say about it then, go here:
Then before MWSF 02, the iWalk returned, about the same time as the Apple hype "5 days to Macworld," etc in its new incarnation, in the same style as the iPod (it was not the first use of white, chrome, or the wheel) in the pic you see here. I know it was before MWSF because I remember discussing it on IRC and the ONLY time I've ever been on Mac IRC boards was before MWSF.
People flipped out when they saw the "new" iWalk because it looked real. BUT take a very magnified look at the text while he is writing. The text he writes appears to shake a few pixels out of sync with the unit itself...very suspicious.
And then the images disappeared from Spymac because Apple Legal asked them to remove it. <cough>bull$h!t<cough> In other words, they removed that and put the Apple Legal shit on to enhance the image and give their site more credibility.
So for the love of anything holy...the iWalk is fake, always was, always will be. It didn't precede the iPod and Spymac themselves have 2 versions, one of which is WAY fake, why would the other not be?
This is not same as iWalk which Spymac was showed before.

Spymac showed a crappy 3d rendered pic of a device called the iWalk (not the same thing as in this thread) after Apple announced a "Breakthrough" device would be release (iPod). After the iPod was out spymac ran this story with pics and movies, saying this was the ?Real? iWalk. They later apologized for being so stupid.

Apple FireWire Cable
$999

As a PDA the 9.1" screen is pretty large. In fact my Palm IIIXE is a little too compersome to easily fit in a pocket.
Make it USB or Firewire, and cut the cost. Air Port would be nice, particularly if you wanted to use it as a pad, but it might be best to cut it for cost and space savings.
Get rid of the Video Out, you dont want it to replace a computer (Apple still wants to sell iMacs dont they?) , but interface with it, so why would add the extra space and cost to the unit.
$999 is too much, entry price for a PDA should be around $300 if they want to be a contender in the market. $200 would be better with the current Palm prices.
Why does O'Grady keep posting "news" that was broke elsewhere two or three weeks earlier? This is like the fifth or sixth time he has done it. Anyone notice? Anyway, this is the same Palm with a hard drive taped to its back that we saw weeks ago.
I have a Palm Vx (which i dont use) and if Apple released a Palm style device I would so buy one. The 1st picture in this series of Posts is very cool indeed, sorta like a Sony

Found this over on <a href="http://www.powerpage.org/story.lasso?newsID=9603" target="_blank">O'Gradys Powerpage</a>
They have a link to a Danish site with photos and video supposedly of OS X running on a Palm IIIc.
