I'm a highschool student taking a 200 level college chemistry lab at the local university. I'm on a bit of a budget. The prof. requires that our lab writeups are done in mathcad.
I ordered MathCAD 6 recently from a software place called MegaWatts . Still runs fine on OS 9.1, but you'll need to download the update for it after you've installed it.

Can I ask what field you are needing such software for ?

You might be able to find a copy of MathCAD 6 somewhere. Your professor should be able to read files that you create in it without problems.
