i use word X to create a doc and use it in PC (word 2000)
i couldnt open it unless i save it in .rtf
what could possibly go wrong????
thanks
Word v.X and Word 2000 have the same file format. You should be able to open files created on either computer on either computer. Since you can open your files on your Mac, your Mac installation appears to be fine. You might try reinstalling Office 2000 on your PC.
check your compatibility settings. In Office x, select Preferences from the Word menu, click on compatibility from the list on the lefthand side, then click on recommended options for Microsoft 2000-2002 and x. Then click on the Default button to save the changes to your Normal template,
Never a truer word spoken. PowerPoint is a disaster area as far as compatibility is concerned. What is all this "Converting Metafile" nonsense? And as for font and paragraph formatting...

I haven't had too much trouble with this. They seem to work well together.

I take fairly complex PowerPoint documents back and forth between work (Windows PC) and home(Mac OSX) all the time and I have never had a problem.
