Transparent pic

I'm having trouble getting a transparent .gif to appear in a web page. I have a no-scroll background, but when content scrolls over it, I would like it to just show the background, not another color. I'm not dealing with text, only images, so that's not a problem.

    What are you using to make the gif? I make most of my images in Photoshop, but I take them into GraphicConverter to optimize the color table and save in gif format.

    Otherwise I remember reading some code in Povray ( for Gif web insertion ) that allowed the Gif to gradually appear... If i find it, I will post link.
