Mine asked for it, but it only spent about 30 seconds on it. Maybe some language support? I think I accidentally selected a bunch of languages that I don't speak, it spent forever installing them.
You can just pop the CD and see what's in the Packages folder. It has additional fonts for inane languages ( j/k ), the security card software, extra epson drivers, QT and X11. Nothing too exciting unless you speak in strange tongues or are into compiling your own buldings of the GIMP.
