How big is your iPhoto library?

I'm at 3,376 photos and 3,477 Mb. Needless to say, iPhoto moves at a complete crawl.

    I'm at 1024 photos and 384 megs.

iPhoto is beyond slow on a G4 Cube.

If you have a CD-R, archive to that. iPhoto will retain the library info it needs for the photos if you do it from within the app. Trim the active library until it gets to a decent speed for you.

iPhoto speed sucks so bad. It needs to be fast as it is with only 5 photos in it, and it needs a button or key combo to go to FULL SCREEN.

6531 pictures; 10341 Mb. I should probably thin them out a bit, but it was too painfully slow to just delete stuff on my 500 TiBook. Things are a little better on my Dual G5

Still even on the Dual G5 I wouldn't exactly call iPhoto snappy. Apple really needs to do some optimization on this App.

I have about 10,000 pictures, 14 GB. It takes like 45 seconds to load my library on my G4 1.25 Powerbook with 1GB ram. I wish there were a better way to organize them. When I want to find a specific picture, I usually have to go through Finder because there are too many thumbnails and no info in iPhoto.

The smallest collection (check my sig), I don't even have a digital camera.

Dude, if you have 10k of pictures, consider ditching iPhoto.
