Clean Install or Upgrade?

Is it better to do a clean install or an upgrade? I have a G5 that shipped with 10.2. I'll be using FCP4 pretty heavily.

    You'll get many many arguments on this, I usually do a clean install but this time around I have done 4 machines with just an upgrade and they work perfectly..
