And if so, what can be done to combat it?

no. there aren't any spyware programs made for mac. one of the benefits of low marketshare. (or maybe they do exist, and are so good at hiding their presence that i've never noticed them, or heard anything about them)

I was wondering same thing if it did. I heard there were none. But how can there be none? Like how does it not put itself on mac or whatever. I dont understand that part of it. As of being a proud owner of 17" PB 1.33ghz on 10/15/03, not 1 complaint yet. Except i kinda wish i got 12 or 15" when i use it layin in bed, haha.

If spyware == shitware, then yes. Otherwise, no.

closest thing i saw to adware on a mac was direct connect from neo modus. every few min, it would try to throw a pop up window in safari.
