How long should it take to transfer about 132 MB over an Airport network?

I'm doing this right now and it is just craaawwling...so far only 8 MB transfered and it's saying it has about "an hour" to go

With a good strong signal, Airport is rated at 11 Mbps. But a lot of that is framing, overhead, etc., so figure that you get half of that as real data payload.

    5.5 Mbps = 0.6875 MB/sec

    132 MB / (0.6875 MB/sec) = 192 sec = 3.2 minutes

So, yes, something is going awfully damned slowly.

I'm a total Airport/network noob, so any suggestions anyone might have on what to look for would be helpful.

    Thanks!

Well i have read an article about this. In perfect conditions do not expect anything more than a quarter of the real data play load.

    It means 2,7 Mbps/sec max, 320 KB/Sec.

So 6 minutes should be expected.

There must be a problem somewhere.
