Please note you cannot upgrade the processor in a laptop like you can with a desktop. You are stuck with what you get from the very start.

You can on a Pismo. Now all I'm waiting for is the 1Ghz upgrade card
Regardless of throughput it is certinly a good thing to have over ATA66 because of the partition size limit of ATA66. Desktop drives have now started to eclipse it, so if you have ATA66 you have to make 2 partitions out of drives bigger than 120GB. You can always get an ATA card for your computer but that isn't an option for any mac other than the PM. Fujitsu has 100GB 2.5" drives coming and by ths time next year notebook drives right at the partition limit should appear. If you're plnning on keeping your 'book for more than 2-3 years, ATA100 or greater will be nice convenience.

I did some checking Matsu, and I could find no correlation between the speed of the HD data path, and the maximum partition size. I suspect that you are referring to the wintel world. In most PC's the BIOS imposes a maximmum size based on this bus. This should, as far as I can see, in no way impact available partition sizes on a Mac.
Sweet, is it really possible to do that. Are the effects permanent. Can u really make them?

Well from what I've see so far (i don't have many things to destroy just laying around) they have been temp...its not strong enough for it to be perm. It may be if i up the voltage...taht will also increase distance...email [email protected]

Remember the article about the executive with the prototype. I believe the mentioned DDR SDRAM in there. I can't seem to find it right now... I want DDR SDRAM, 1 GHz, and GeForce 4 Go and I'll buy it right now. I'm hoping such an update will come along side the PowerMac update.
[quote]They're trying almost as hard to move the TiBooks as the Powermacs. The promos used to be a good indicator of what is about to be revved.

They're trying hard to move EVERYTHING. It has less to do with coming revisions than with hardware sales overall being below expectations.
That is a great way to get dead in a hurry. I recommend a shotgun if you want to pack heat in bear country.

Not sure what the above item is doing in this forum ~ but I use a S&W model 629 .44 magnum with an 8 & 3/8 in. barrel plus 300 grain Hornady custom loads for black bear here in Pennsylvania.

But I will not buy one until I can get DDR.
Maybe that is unrealistic.
