My menubar items have stopped updating. I get the SPOD when I mouse over the icons up there. The funny thing is, weatherpop is still working. Anyone have this experience? How do I "relaunch" the menubar?

I used to get that a LOT in Jaguar, but not since I upgraded to Panther. I had to log out to get them to work again because I couldn't figure out what process to kill from the command line.

Yeah, logging out and back in fixed it. Odd, I never had this happen in Jag. Oh well. Where's 10.3.1? I need the finder fixed too.... :/

SystemUIServer is the culprit. Sometimes a mere kill won't work. kill -9 with super-user privileges.

I never had this problem in panther or jag. A logout and login should fix it though. I guess I'm just being repetitive now though.

Also, deleting system fonts, and then rebooting say, would also cause severe problems like menubar crashes, window/panels crashing ? basically nothing working. m.

I had this problem over near the clock - it was down to OS X not being able to connect to the network time server - and therefore crashing it.
