Sodium cyanide bomb found, national media uninterested

Since arresting the three people in May, federal agents have served hundreds of subpoenas across the country in a domestic terror investigation that made it onto President Bush?s daily intelligence briefings and set off national security alarms among the country?s most senior counter-terror officials.

...

At least one weapon of mass destruction - a sodium cyanide bomb capable of delivering a deadly gas cloud - has been seized in the Tyler [Texas] area.

...

The government also found some chilling personal documents indicating that unknown co-conspirators may still be free to carry out what appeared to be an advanced plot. And, authorities familiar with the case say more potentially deadly cyanide bombs may be in circulation.

Story here...but how come the NYT, the Post, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News haven't been reporting this?

Wait...you don't think the FBI reports that indicate that this guy may have manufactured poison gas bombs for terror cells all across the country is worthy of some national media attention?

Think 'too busy focusing on less important but attention grabbing / hot button issues' more than 'conspiracy.'

There's too much going on in Iraq for us to worry about something trivial like terrorism.

Oh, and they're not Arabs, so they can't be real terrorists.

Remember, Arabs and liberals are the greatest threats to American democracy.

According to the article, the FBI stumbled on this group by complete accident. They were probably too busy surveilling people who disagree with George Bush.

LOL. Too true. Remember what happened earlier this year in Texas regarding that.

Seriously though, in Cold War Politics today the American professor tried to convince it's necessary for terrorism to have state support. WTF mate?!!! You and Bush, blithering idiots!!! What about Oklahoma City!!! That's terrorism, and I'm sure the families there would be rather PISSED if Bush conveniently forgot about them. This is another example. America is full of domestic terrorism. What about the unibomber? That guy at the Olympics? The sniper? Sheesh. I'm disgusted with the "liberal media" these days. How do you explain the LIBERAL MEDIA SDW2001 and trumptman, in this instance? It's simple, they're GOP puppets and the GOP wants to focus our attention on Iraq and how "good" we're doing, and how the "gays" are "taking over."

    </political rant, I still love you>

hmmm....what about arch terrorist Orlando Bosch (convicted in Venezuela for bombing a Cuban airliner killing 73, as well as masterminding 300+ other bombings and attempted bombings). This loser was pardoned by Bush Sr. and is now living a free man in...Florida of course. Lets not forget US ambassador to the UN John Negroponte, or Assistant Sec. of State for Western Hemispheric Affairs Otto Reich, both these guys were connected to Central and S. American death squads and terrorist groups. Hows about the Provisional IRA's main fundraising group NORAID? They are still active and ironically based in Manhattan...

How about WHISC (formerly the SOA)...based in Fort Benning GA....now there's the University of Terrorism...judging by the some of the notorious alumni of that institution.... funded by the US taxpayer...

What about the Bloods, Crips and other street gangs...if there were domestic terrorist groups...then the gangbangers qualify....they have murdered thousands of people and their activities have terrorized inner cities for years over illicit drug turf...

the list goes on and on...

Bush's "War on terror" is phoney because they cherrypick which terrorists to go after and which ones are AOK. Considering that the Bush admin. global security programs are being directed by the PNAC lunatic fringe, (a number of whom are raging Islamophobes), then its easy to see how the popular notion of "all terrorists have beards and wear turbans" is perpetuated.

    Sammi Jo, dearest patriot.

You do know what distinguishes a terrorist from your average blood thirty criminal and street hug?

    btw,

Sammi Jo, you do seem to be rather eager to swell the ranks of "terrorists" in the US. Why is that Sammi Jo?

    Oh, let me:

Because if you are going to fight a "war on terror" you had best be consistent in how you define "terror" or you will give the appearance (if not fact) of using the "terror" umbrella to press other agendas. This will lead to wide-spread cynicism as to your actual motives, which will make it harder to fight terror.

    OK?

How in hell do you work that out? Same old shit: someone points out that there have been more terrorist attacks by Americans on Americans in America then towelheads and that's a rallying cry for terrorists.

I suppose one can argue that the cloak political design can be applied to the Bloods, Crips and other uniformed street gangs in the US. After all they must be fighting for free government handouts and free this and free that. An esteemed and worthy political cause, deserving of its own political party.
