    What's New:

Version 6.5 delivers extensive support for the 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards, including Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) and Qualcomm Code Excited Linear Predictive (QCELP) audio codecs, MPEG-4 and H.263 video codecs, 3G Timed Text, native .3gp and .3g2 file formats as well as support for Movie Fragments, which provide mobile operators and content providers with the advantages of real-time streaming within their existing web infrastructure.

Well, Quicktime came preloaded on my pb, so I don't have a serial number, nor do I know how it was registered. Update won't install unless I provide registered name. Can anyone tell me how I can update? Thanks in advance!

I do know one thing though: the only two times OSX crashed on me was with Quicktime.

Easiest way to update is go to the Quicktime system preference. The update asks for a serial number, but this only applies to the paid version. Just click on continue without filling in any information if you are running the unpaid version.

It normally prompts you for a QT Pro registration key, but you should be able to dismiss that dialog if you don't have one. One of the options should be something like, "Register Later" or such.

Have your registration number ready. When you upgrade, quicktime will automatically ask you for it prior to completing the download.
