Saddam capture staged?

Rep. LaHood's comment is interesting. Considering that almost everything emanating from the Bush White House on the Iraq issue is either unreliable or plain untruthful, the only thing I am not skeptical about Saddam is the fact that he is now in custody (which is a good thing of course). Was the hole in which Saddam was "found" a hide out, (as parroted by the media) or was it a holding cell, in which Saddam's eventual "discovery" was staged for political reasons?

That's how folks reacted when informed about the truth of Jessica Lynch. That's how folks reacted when informed about the truth of Iraqi WMD. Why would it be far-fetched to think that the official story is not a factual one?

Seems to me that the number of times the official line has been false would lead you to be at least a little skeptical of any claim coming out. But that's just this thing we like to call reason. Don't let rational thought get in your way, guys.

I mean, how many times do you have to get burned before you realize that you need to be a little cautious? Hell, even a dog can learn to do that.

Yeah, I remember when alcimedes thought it was crazy to suggest Iraqi WMD was any less than what the Bush admin claimed? I do. Remember when he argued that shale oil was the Next Big Thing? I do.

I don't know about saddam and his hole, but one thing is clear:

    alcimedes is consistently wrong.

That why he just resorts to this stuff.

The Lahood statements didn't strike me as indicating any sort of plot or conspiracy. It sounded like a cocky politician tooting his horn. I haven't looking into the link you posted yet.

Ask the legions of folk who are only comfortable with official versions of events, which (in their frames of reference) always represents the unquestionable truth. Automaton mode is easy. To run the "conspiracy theory" kneejerk response up the flagpole is the most easy and effective dismissal.

The unripe dates thing is pretty compelling to me. What does it mean? That he was captured a long time ago and they sat on it until now? That the event was staged? Does it really matter?

When you piss your pants, does the wet spot start in the middle of your zipper, or the middle of your leg?
